# Clean up photos and generate illustrations

> Remove clutter from a photo with AI, or generate an illustration so items are easy to spot in your lists. Neither replaces your original photo as evidence.

Claimfrog's photo clean-up and AI illustration tools make your inventory easier to browse. They never replace your original photos as evidence.

## Remove clutter from a photo

1. Open an item with a photo and click **Remove clutter** on the photo.
2. Optionally list the **Items to keep**, separated by commas (for example "laptop, desk lamp, monitor"). Leave it empty to keep everything of value and remove only clutter.
3. Click **Clean up** and compare the **Original** and **Cleaned up** versions.
4. Click **Add edited photo**, or **Use as main photo** to show it first.

The cleaned-up photo is saved as a separate **Edited** image. Your original stays untouched and is the one used in claim reports.

## Generate an illustration

Useful for items you can't photograph right now, or old entries without a picture.

1. Open the item and enter its **name**, plus a brand, model, description or a specific category so the picture matches.
2. Click **Generate an illustration**.

AI illustrations are labeled **AI illustration** and are never counted as evidence. An item with only an illustration still shows as missing a photo, so add a real one when you can.
