Rooms say where an item is and categories say what it is. In Claimfrog, **tags** let you group items any other way you like: "heirloom", "gift", "business", "scheduled" (items listed separately on your policy), or "Airbnb unit 2".

## Add tags to an item

1. Open the item and click **More details**.
2. In **Tags**, type a tag and press **Enter**. Existing tags are suggested as you type.
3. Click **Save**.

To tag many items at once, select them on the **Items** page, click **Edit** and use **Add tags**.

## Filter by tag

Click **Tags** in the toolbar and pick one or more tags. You see items that have **all** the selected tags. Click **Clear tags** to reset.

## Rename, merge or delete tags

1. On **Items**, click **More** and choose **Manage tags**.
2. Pick a tag and choose **Rename** or **Delete**, or tick several and click **Merge selected**.
3. Confirm. The change applies to every item in the property. Deleting a tag never deletes the items.

## Totals by tag

When you create an [inventory report](https://www.claimfrog.com/help/inventory-report), tick **Include totals by tag** to add a table of item counts and values per tag. An item with several tags is counted under each one, so these totals overlap.

## On the Free plan

Tags you already have stay visible, searchable and included in exports, but you can't add or change them.
