If you host on Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com or take direct bookings, Claimfrog's host mode gives you a record of your rental's condition before and after every stay, and builds damage claims that meet platform deadlines.

## Steps

1. Go to **Settings** and open **Short-term rental**.
2. Turn on **This property is a short-term rental**.
3. Choose your **Main booking platform**: Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Direct bookings or Other.
4. Click **Save**. **Host** now appears in the menu.

You can also turn this on during setup with **Is this a short-term rental?**.

## Then, in order

1. **Document your contents once.** Add the furniture, electronics and decor in the rental with photos and values, so a damage claim can point to each item. [Room capture](https://www.claimfrog.com/help/capture-a-whole-room) is the fastest way.
2. **Connect your booking calendars** so stays fill in on their own. See [Connect your booking calendars](https://www.claimfrog.com/help/connect-booking-calendars).
3. **Do a stay check at each turnover.** See [Stay checks](https://www.claimfrog.com/help/stay-checks).

## Good to know

- Host mode is part of Premium and Business. On a shared property, it follows the owner's plan.
- Only the property owner can change the rental settings.
- The dashboard's **Rental host** card shows open stay checks, today's check-outs, the next arrival and any claim deadline coming up.
