Terms of Service
Last Updated: October 23, 2026
1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Claimfrog. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Claimfrog website, application, and services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you are not permitted to use the Services.
2. Description of Service
Claimfrog provides a home and business inventory application designed to help you document belongings for insurance and organizational purposes. The Services include tools for cataloging items, storing photos, videos and receipts, AI-powered features that detect items and estimate replacement values, coverage and hazard checks, claim reports, and ways to share your inventory with people you choose. We also offer free tools on our website, such as a home contents calculator.
Claimfrog is not an insurance company, broker or adjuster, and does not provide insurance, legal or financial advice. Whether a loss is covered, and how much is paid, is decided by your insurer under your policy.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Services. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
4. User Accounts and Security
To access most features of the Services, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized use of your account.
5. User-Generated Content & Responsibility
You are the sole owner of the information, data, text, photos, and other content you upload to the Services ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of your User Content. Claimfrog does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of any User Content. By uploading User Content, you grant Claimfrog a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you, including processing it with the service providers described in our Privacy Policy.
Sharing. You control who can see your inventory. When you invite a collaborator or create a share link, the people you share with can see the content you share until you remove their access, the link expires or you revoke it. You are responsible for choosing who to share with, and for having the right to upload any photos, documents or information about other people (such as rental guests) that you add to the Services.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to misuse the Services. For example, you must not:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or to violate any laws in your jurisdiction.
- Upload or share any content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringing on intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or breach any security measures.
- Use automated means to scrape or overload the Services or their free tools, or resell access to them.
- Use the Services to support a fraudulent or exaggerated insurance claim.
- Interfere with or disrupt the access of any user, host, or network, including by sending a virus or overloading the Services.
7. Estimates, AI Features and Reports
Values, item details and other results produced by our AI features, the contents calculator, coverage checks, depreciation schedules and hazard checks are estimates based on the information available to us. They are for informational purposes only and are not a certified appraisal, a guarantee of actual value, a determination of coverage, or the amount an insurance company will pay. AI can make mistakes, such as misidentifying an item or misreading a label. Hazard information comes from third-party public sources that may be incomplete or out of date.
You are responsible for reviewing and correcting your inventory, and for the accuracy of anything you submit to an insurer, including reports and claim packages generated by the Services. We are not liable for differences between our estimates and the actual, insured or paid value of an item.
8. Fees and Subscriptions
The free plan is free. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the prices shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe, plus any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing settings in the app; you keep paid features until the end of the period you have paid for, and your account then moves to the free plan without deleting your inventory. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods.
We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
9. Intellectual Property
All right, title, and interest in and to the Services (excluding User Content) are and will remain the exclusive property of Claimfrog and its licensors. This includes our branding, logos, and all associated intellectual property rights. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services, for your own household or, on plans intended for businesses, for your own business's internal purposes, subject to these Terms. If you use the Services on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms. You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings (after cancelling any paid subscription), or by contacting us. We recommend exporting your inventory first, which you can do at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease, and your User Content will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Keeping your own copy of important records, such as receipts, is your responsibility.
11. Disclaimers, Service Availability, and Limitation of Liability
The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that your data will be secure or not otherwise lost or damaged.
In no event shall Claimfrog be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Services; (iii) any content obtained from the Services; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Consumer rights. Some jurisdictions, including Quebec, do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived, and the disclaimers and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by the law that applies to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Claimfrog and its employees, contractors, and directors from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable legal fees), resulting from or arising out of your use and access of the Service, or a breach of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and may bring proceedings in the courts there.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to use our Services after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
