Airbnb asks hosts to report guest damage within 14 days of check-out, or before the next guest checks in, whichever comes first. Miss it and the claim may not be accepted. Claimfrog tracks that deadline and builds the claim from your stay check.
Steps
- On the stay check, after you record check-out, turn on Damage found.
- Click Start Airbnb damage claim (the button names your stay's platform).
- Claim mode opens with the loss type set to Guest damage (rental) and the guest stay filled in: platform, guest name, reservation code, check-in, check-out and next check-in.
- Pick the damaged items, describe what happened, and review.
- Click Download claim package. For guest damage it includes the Condition before the stay and Condition after check-out photos side by side, plus each damaged item's own photos and values.
- Submit the claim on the platform (for Airbnb, through its Resolution Center) and attach or link your package.
The deadline
The claim shows how many days are left and the exact date, for example "3 day(s) left to report". The deadline is the earlier of 14 days after check-out and the next guest's check-in.
If your booking calendars are connected, Claimfrog keeps the next check-in date up to date for you. A date you type yourself always wins.
The dashboard's Rental host card also warns you how many days are left on any open damage claim.
Good to know
- Platform rules change. Check the platform's current host policy for its exact deadline and what it accepts as evidence.
- Claimfrog prepares your evidence. The platform decides the outcome.
