Set up your first property
The three-step setup wizard creates your property, its rooms and your insurance details so Claimfrog can track your coverage.
A property is the home, rental or business location you are inventorying. The wizard takes about two minutes. Your progress is saved if you close the tab, so you can pick up where you left off.
Steps
- Choose the property type. House, Apartment, Condo, Office, Retail Store, Warehouse or Multi-Family Property.
- Enter the property details.
- Give it a name (for example "Primary Residence" or "Beach House").
- Pick the country and start typing the address; choose the matching suggestion.
- Review Your Spaces. Claimfrog suggests rooms for your property type. Remove the ones you don't have and add your own.
- If you rent it out on Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com, turn on Is this a short-term rental? to switch on host mode.
- Optionally tick Add 10 sample items to explore. You can remove them later in one click.
- Add your insurance details (optional). Your insurer, policy number and coverage amounts are on your policy's declarations page. Click Skip for now if you don't have them handy.
- Click Finish Setup. You land on the dashboard with a checklist of next steps.
Why the insurance step matters
Your personal items (contents) coverage is what Claimfrog compares your inventory against. Without it, Claimfrog can't warn you when your belongings are worth more than your policy covers. Your insurer and agent details also appear on your claim package and give you one-tap contact when you need it.
Good to know
- Currency is set from the property's country. You can change it during setup.
- Everything here can be changed later in Settings.
- Need more than one property? See Manage multiple properties.
