Most contents policies pay to replace your things at today's prices, so the number that matters is the replacement value: what it would cost to buy the same or a similar item new today. It's often different from what you paid.
Steps
- Open an item (or start a new one) and fill in the name, plus the brand and model if you know them.
- Click Value.
- Claimfrog searches real retailer listings for the same or a very similar product and fills in the Replacement Value.
- Check the number and adjust it if you know better.
Where the number comes from
Each value shows its source, so you and your adjuster know how it was set:
- Entered by you
- AI estimate from photo (set when an item was detected from a photo)
- AI estimate
- Retailer listing, with the date it was checked
Claimfrog only links to real listings it found. It never makes up a product link.
Tips
- Brand and model make the biggest difference. "Samsung 65-inch QN90C" gets a far better estimate than "TV".
- Re-check values on your most valuable items once a year; prices change.
Troubleshooting
- "Could not estimate a value." Add the brand and model, or enter the value yourself.
